About Me
As owner of 4 Essential Balance LLC, I offer Massage Therapy, Reflexology, and self-care instruction to enhance client well-being at your visit and long after you leave my office. Using my 14 years of experience, specializing in Therapeutic/Medical Massage I incorporate myofascial therapy, neuromuscular techniques, trigger point massage, deep tissue massage, and assisted/activated & passive stretching into each customized treatment. My clients report reduced pain and stiffness, improved mobility, higher energy levels, and increased productivity following these treatments. I incorporate educational elements into each session to help clients maintain progress and keep the wins they achieve.. |
Previously, I focused on homeschooling our children and pursuing a comprehensive applied holistic education in natural living, raising Great Pyrenees livestock and family guardian dogs, Nubian dairy goats, Shetland sheep, Giant Angora and Dwarf Hotot rabbits, Sebastopol and Chinese geese, as well as various breeds of chickens and ducks. My love for natural living continues, alongside my husband, with the help of our Bielefelder and Brahma chickens and Muscovy ducks, which naturally control weeds and pests.
Because natural health has always been important to me, when I've experienced injuries over the years; motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall(s) at public stores, I utilized chiropractic, physical therapy, and massage along with traditional medical doctors. |
When our youngest daughter was diagnosed with renal disease in 2009 and received treatment at Children’s Medical Hospital in Dallas, Texas, she found pain relief through her father’s reflexology and foot massages, as well as through the hospital's licensed massage therapists. Seeing my daughter's pain ease and her relax peacefully after each massage session sparked a small idea: Massage could open the door to pursue a career in health.
I then realized my goal was within reach. Following my daughters surgeries and treatment, I explored the possibility of becoming a professional massage therapist. I enrolled in and completed the Universal Therapeutic Massage Institute program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. |
As part of my services, I offer complimentary custom aromatherapy blends made with 100% pure essential oils sourced from Simply Earth. Treatments use organic jojoba oil extract, balms and serums to nourish the skin.
I work closely with chiropractors and doctors in the area, treating personal injury cases (motor vehicle accidents). My work is guided by empathy, kindness, and love, and I'm truly honored to be in this profession. My license, is issued by the State of New Mexico Massage Therapy Board; Elizabeth C Christensen MT7010. As a professional member in good standing with the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP), I'm listed in their Find a Massage Therapist® locator service. I previously served as the vice-president for the New Mexico Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association. I am the owner of 4 Essential Balance LLC, Massage, Reflexology in Edgewood, NM where I share the space with a my husband who is a Reflexologist. |
My training includes neuromuscular therapy, orthopedic massage, trigger point therapy, active activated stretching, TMJ syndrome, facial massage for TMJ and skin tone, and deep tissue massage. To best serve my clients, I believe ongoing education is essential for my development. My continuing education includes ethics and CPR/first aid, required for every license renewal. Self-care, business and marketing, and other related topics are all included in my education.

I deeply believe in the benefits of massage for self-care, and my thousands of hours of experience receiving bodywork from other practitioners has taught me how to make clients feel comfortable and cared for. Due to pain from car accidents, repetitive use injuries, and the aging process, I've been developing my own techniques for pain management. I will be revealing the expertise and strategies I've developed that have positively impacted my friends, family, and clients. To make it easier for those who can't see me in person to access help; I will be sharing these to my YouTube channel. For more information, (link coming soon)
I'm also passionate about natural health and nutrition, and enjoy stretching, strengthening, and self-massage, both at home and on the go. I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, swimming and going to the lake and attending Renaissance and Celtic festivals. I love spending time outdoors taking care of my animals, and learning about herbs and gardening while caring for our land. |
